One of Shikha's friends had come to pick me up at Harvard Square - which is a quaint little place - cobbled roads, chilled out people and bustling shops. The Charles river flows along Harvard Business School and is spanned by many stone bridges. Boston is a great mix of old architecture and new - most of the buildings in downtown Boston have an old facade - which looks amazing - and modern interiors. The walking tour of downtown Boston is much recommended.
The Charles river has a little footpath all along it - and I'm still amazed to see Americans jogging on it at all times of the day - I mean who would expect to see so many people jogging at 1pm on a working Wednesday? And many people rowing away, practising for the next boat race makes the entire thing a pretty and relaxed sight.

Boston was lovely when I reached - the fall was just ending, winter was setting in and all the trees were red and yellow....I loved the colors on all the maple trees.

The colors of fall
The HBS campus is just about amazing - superb infrastructure, cute and very well-equipped dorms and lots and lots of space - and yeah, a profusion of super-smart people everywhere. The gym is by far the best I've ever seen anywhere - a huge building with many courts for tennis, basketball, squash...you name it, on the ground floor. The second floor has the exercise area - weight training rooms, aerobic exercises and special halls for different fitness classes held throughout the day. The third floor has a jogging track which remains my favorite. Damn, I can totally stay here!:-D There are tunnels connecting everywhere with everywhere else in HBS, so that takes care of the cold.
Its getting nippy around here - the weather changes very fast - it can be cold and sunny one moment and cold and rainy the other - cold is the common factor right now:)
Driving has always been difficult in downtown Boston - the lanes suddenly dissappear and merge below you and the GPS always goes haywire!
I've loved New York and the energy in the city but I think Boston is the place I can settle down in! Its almost like how much I love Bombay but would never settle down there.

evolving: once you reach mandwa, the boats have a complimentary bus service.
get down at Chondi, take an auto (hanging around at the busstop) to
Kihim and tell them that you want to go to Vaidya Wadi, just before
the MTDC tents. Also while you're at Vaidya wadi, tell the guy about
what you want to eat beforehand coz he has to go to the market to
getstuff accordingly. And yeah, make sure you get the cottages
overlooking the sea with the verandah and not the huts on the
side...the huts are passable only if you want to stay for the day.
